About Me
My name is Lila Cardillo, and I am an aspiring User Experience Designer. I am currently a Master’s student at the University of San Diego, where I am studying Learning Design and Technology. In addition to being a student, I am an Associate Teacher at an elementary school in Los Angeles, California.
I double majored in Psychological Science and Sociology at Pomona College, graduating in 2022. Before diving into the education industry, my first love was research. I served as a research assistant at a developmental psychology lab during my undergraduate studies, and after graduating, I became a user research intern with Cards Against Humanity.
I plan to leverage the skills and knowledge I am gaining while studying Learning Design and Technology, while merging my education and research backgrounds, to help companies and platforms optimize a user’s experience.
Professional Identity Statement
I come from a family line of dedicated educators, and that passion drives my work. I believe that learning and eLearning must be exciting and genuinely accessible.
As an early-career designer, I come to projects with the curiosity and tenacity I refined in past research roles. I will not settle until I've found the best solution. My courses reflect my approach as a teacher: they are supportive, thorough, and informative while also always built to be enjoyable and motivating.
I believe that bringing humor and joy into my work will be the key to making content stick. I want the learning experiences I design to be rigorous but never boring, ensuring learners feel energized, supported, and ready to apply their new knowledge.
